Alexander Girard Collection
Textile designs on glass
Alexander Girard created more than 300 designs for Herman Miller during his 20-year tenure as director of the Herman Miller Fabric Division. Translating the woven textile to the translucent medium of glass enhances the patterns with luminosity and affords areas of privacy. Girard’s designs become architectural with all the benefits and characteristics of glass.
Five archival patterns are available on glass in transparent, translucent and opaque effects, in both color and neutral options.
"Archival research yielded meticulously translated images into digital files. We celebrate the Alexander Girard legacy and bring it forward into the twenty-first century.”
