Jim Krantz

Jim Krantz has devoted much of his career to photographing the American West. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, he developed a taste for the arts early on in his grandfather’s studio. Krantz’s photographic process reveals what the eye can’t see: the visual poetry of arc welding. Spark trails, heat, friction, and smoke become compositional elements and, in his hands, gestures of rhythm and grace.
